mplimentary and group shows. Visit the Gallery page on our website to su
bmit your work for consideration.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nJudy Saylor Allison \n\
 nJudith A M Saylor Allison\, Education: CW Post College\n\nAs a farm chi
ld I was drawing on anything that was available\, including the barn.
But in the back of my mind\, I wanted to paint on canvas.  In the early
1990’s I studied the art of Sumi-e followed by a photography course a
t Fairchild Botanic Gardens in Miami.  The beauty of nature unfolded be
fore my eyes.  Beginning in 1999 I was mentored by Clyde Butcher\, an A
nsel Adams Award Winning Photographer.  It was then that the camera\, a
s an extension of my eye\, allowed me an intimate study of nature\, so I
could formulate my ideas. Photography became an integral part of my "se
eing".  My paintings came forth a few years later\, using examples that
  I saw through my camera’s lens.\n\nIn 2003 I began painting nature on
canvas.  As a mostly self taught artist\, I feel fortunate that I pain
t my own way.  Painting allows a suspension of my time\, a meditation o
f the beauty of nature\, so that my exploration can communicate the vibr
ation of color\, light and music.  It is my belief that such paintings
will help to heal illness.\n\nAs a member of the Board of Trustees of th
e Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center in Key Biscayne\, Flor
ida\, and as one of their Artists in Residence\, art continues to be my
focus. Here\, in the winter\, I have taught children from the inner city
to record what they have seen on their adventures by the sea.  As in m
y childhood\, we work on large pieces of recycled cardboard\, cut from b
oxes\, and then primed with house paint.  This serves as an example tha
t their “canvas” can be easily accessed when their ideas surface and
that their materials are neither conventional nor costly.  Empowering
our youth of today makes for successful adults.\n\nSince 2003 I have exh
ibited in Miami and New York City as well as local shows in our South Je
rsey area\, including a one woman show at The Ocean City Art Center\, Gr
eat Bay Gallery in Somers Point\, a 7 month exhibition of 76 of my origi
nal paintings at Shore Medical Center in 2016 and Nashville North Studio
s.\n\nTraveling to New Mexico\, beginning in 2004\, has been a highlight
of my life.  As an artist to be able to capture the feeling of the lan
d and sky is a grateful challenge. I must say thank you to Miss O'Keeffe
for being my mentor and providing great inspiration.\n\nMy husband\, Ji
 m Allison\, and I opened Nashville North Studios in 2011\, a music and a
rt studio in Linwood\, NJ\, and closed it in 2022.   Here he recorded a
nd produced music and I displayed my art along with other regional artis
ts\, creative writers and musicians.\n\nNashville North Studios was a co
mmunity outreach to regional artists and musicians to encourage them to
explore their creativity. We encourage all musicians and artists to make
an appointment to visit us at our historic home\, “Juniper Rydge” i
n Linwood\, NJ.   Call 609-504-5044 for more information or visit us on
Facebook at Nashville North Studios\, Home of NNS Records.\n\n    Â
Thank you for your kind support of the arts.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nT
heresa Casciato Kennish\n\nI was born and raised by the beach in Atlanti
c County. My love of art started at an early age with the encouragement
of my family.\n\nI nurtured my love of art by taking classes and working
with local artists  while also pursuing a career as an educator. My ar
t life has continued to grow over the years with local artists' shows an
d showings at local galleries. I recently retired after 32 years of teac
hing and I am excited to now focus solely on my painting.\n\nMy painting
s convey movement and energy through the use of bold color. Nature inspi
res me. I am continually amazed and inspired by the sea\, sky and everyt
hing in between. I use my intuition and inner filter to guide me through
my painting allowing inspiration to direct my creativity.\n\nI prefer t
o work large although there is a time and place for all sizes. I use a c
ombination of brushwork combined with palette knives\, putty knives\, br
ayers and pretty much any fun tool I can find. I get excited by the limi
tless possibilities of combining tools\, movement and paint.\n\nI am cur
rently exhibiting at ANEU Kitchens of Margate and Paoli\, PA. I am also
showing in Ocean City\, NJ at Coastal Creation Studios\, Barefoot Market
\, and the OC Art Center.  I am currently a member of the Ocean City Fi
ne Arts League on Asbury Avenue in Ocean City\, NJ\,  participating in
monthly shows and showing my work in the gallery. I work with children i
n after-school programs . I participate in  monthly shows hosted by the
Absecon Arts Alliance of which I am currently a member.  Most recently
\, I was interviewed by Bob Kelly on Fox News about my art and teaching.
\n\nPainting moves me. It inspires me\, fills me with energy and anchors
  my desire to paint.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nChristine A. O’Brien\n\n
Christine O’Brien graduated from Stockton State College with a BA in V
isual Art\, majoring in graphic design. After receiving her degree\, she
has worked as a graphic artist for print shops\, teaches children’s a
rt classes and exhibits her work with many local art galleries. She also
has a permanent collection with the Healing Arts Program at several Atl
anticare locations and has participated in the 48 Blocks Program with th
e Atlantic City Arts Foundation designing and painting adirondack chairs
. Her bold\, vibrant work is inspired by nature and trips to New Mexico\
n\nusing oil pastel\, oil paint and paper collage. She is a member of Ga
llery 50\, Noyes Museum of Art\, Society of New Jersey Artists\, Perkins
Center for the Arts and an Associate Member of the Riverfront Renaissan
ce Center for the Arts. Born and raised in Margate\, she now resides in
Egg Harbor Township\, New Jersey with her family.
