DESCRIPTION:Our monthly art show featuring two incredible local artists 
 is the first Sunday of every month. Meet the creators - plus live music 
 and wine!\nCan’t make it to the debut event? The gallery is open to th
 e public during regular winery hours\, and we welcome you to enjoy the s
 pace! Selected artists showcase for an entire month and the pieces are a
 vailable for sale.\nOur curator\, Lori Loewen\, works to find the best a
 nd brightest creators in our area\, pulling together solo\, complimentar
 y and group shows. Visit the Gallery page on our website to submit your 
 work for consideration.\n\n\n\n\nOctober Featured Artist: Rick Lang\n\nR
 ick began his career in marine sciences. He spent years traveling along 
 the Atlantic and Pacific coasts for various projects aimed at restoring 
 and maintaining our coastal resources.  During that time\, Rick acquire
 d and honed his skills in visually translating the coastal scenery onto 
 canvas.   He developed a style that captures the vibrant colors\, ligh
 t\, and feel of the coastal community.  The endless combinations of sun
 \, clouds\, sand\, and waves meld to make a continuously changing visual
  model that evokes a sense of relaxation and comfort.  Many of Rick’s
  paintings also create a sense of nostalgia for past times at the shore 
 with family and friends\n\nRick has received multiple awards and enjoys 
 exhibiting in various juried art shows\, events\, and festivals througho
 ut South Jersey.  Rick’s paintings are created to share the ‘shore 
 experience’ throughout the entire year.   Rick’s primary medium is
  oil painting\, and he enjoys both studio and plein air painting. Rick i
 s also a member of the Ocean City Art Center.\n\nrlang@sandandwaves.com\
 n\n&nbsp\;\n\nOctober Featured Artist: Greg Stett\n\nGreg Stett was born
  and raised in New Jersey.  He received his love of art and talent from
  his mother\, and his scientific genes from his father.  The career yea
 rs were spent in the Biomedical Engineering field in Louisiana and Texas
 .  He returned to New Jersey at retirement.\n\nHaving dabbled in drawin
 g and cartooning since childhood\,  it was not until retirement that he
  fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming an artist.  He started by doing
  portraits of his grandchildren as Christmas presents for his children.�
 �  He moved on to serene scenes of his favorite places\, Cape May and M
 annington\, NJ and most recently started painting Texas scenes.\n\nPaste
 ls became the medium of choice because the pure color pigment helps capt
 ure the reflections and light of nature\, the glow of the sun on sand\, 
 sky\, or water\, as well as the translucence of skin and the twinkle in 
 an eye.  “My painting style focuses on realism\, play of light and de
 tail. As an admirer of the works of the old masters\, I continue to seek
  ways that they were able to portray light and shadow\, as well as fine 
 details.  The level of detail creates many challenges\, but capturing t
 hat realism helps the viewer be in the moment.”\n\nGreg is a member of
  the Salem County Art League\, Gallery 50\, Juried Associate Artist of R
 iverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts\, Perkins Center\, The Pastel 
 Society of New Jersey\, Salem County Art Tour and STROBE.  He splits hi
 s time between Cape May and Mannington\, New Jersey.  Both places offer
  a never-ending supply of inspiring and wonderful things to paint.\n\ngr
